Didn't expect this take on the future of publishing, it's so smart how you imagine the AI agents at work, like a twisted version of literary evolution. But it also makes you wonder if we're loosing something when the "perfect" manuscript is just optimal data, you know? What about the messy human bitts?
I don't know if I should be impressed by the projection of "perfect efficiency excludes the human", or how things are actually developing with the help and participation of human yet heading to a similar situation, where everything is about convincing others and optimizing instead of true empathy.
Looking for what brings responses instead of real connection.
I’ve read it, but things are still unclear to me… This post is from 2021. So… is this still ongoing? Do you know?
And once again - thank you. A lot. For being a true fan of my works. Means the world to me. I write for people like you. And I am honored that you’re enjoying this so much.
I believe it's still on going. If you check their posts, you'd see they publish one guest post per month, everytime from a different author (they tag their name as a subtitle)
Only one note: 2040 is too late. Traditional publishing will have us here by the early 2030s. They'll just pretend to have humans doing the writing, acquisitions, editing, etc.
I do look forward to AI replacement of influencers, though. All they do is drive up prices of the places they travel. AI can do everything influencers do, but it doesn't need a flight or a room.
Wonderfully written. I especially liked the line, "01001101 01100001 01100100 01100101 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01101100 01101111 01101111 01101011" Beautiful prose, vivid description. If I could cry, it would have moved me to tears.

Well... I see you've arrived at the essence of this satire. Congratulations ❤️
Arguably the beat piece I read this year.

From both the seller and buyer ends.
Damn
Thank you! Comments like this means much more to me than you could imagine.
I am still 'invisible' here. And I appreciate your feedback. ❤️
appreciation is where it’s due.
I had to look back at my feed to find this post. Why? I recently heard that Substack has a monthly competition for the best post of the month.
And aside from the $100 prize, you get loads of exposure.
Your article has a good chance of going up there… just saying.
To be totally honest, I don’t even know where to submit that piece. Or the other one I have now.
here’s the announcement I found:https://shortstory.substack.com/p/coming-soon

Funny that you've mentioned the influencers. I have a piece on that, too:

I think I might’ve picked the wrong name 😵. Great read though.
It does have a certain ring to it, haha.
