I think it's sad that so many people postpone living. I know I have. And why? There isn't any good reason. You really cut right down to that uncomfortable truth.
At least one person in that room is there to torture themselves. Is it just me, or Kyle is kinda a whiney ass? Beautifully written, as always, Ellis buddy. I would appreciated the Kyle "grief" for himself to be more disguised, tho. Let us readers sweat and guess a bit, like "wtf, is he talking about himself?"
That was a great piece. It's something that happens to a great many of us. Though sometimes what constitutes 'living' as you reach different ages and possibly having gained/lost family members too also changes, so you could be doing something in your 40s or 50s that 26 year old you would despise, but present day you may absolutely love.
I am here for just exactly this.

As always, your comments are on point. And I always have to improve; for you, and for everyone else.
Including myself.
Thank you!
Me an influencer. Lol, who could've thought.
Oof. This one had me by the guts. Makes me very glad to be 41 and doing the thing.
I had the same realisation as Kyle not too long ago. I don't want to be the dead man walking anymore.
This is beautiful in the most gut-wrenching way. Thank you.
Thank you! I am deeply touched to see that the prose lands right where it should. That's the compliment of the highest order to any writer.
At least, it should be.
We will. That's a fact...
Oh man... you got me with this one.

Your piece certainly gets the mind thinking.
Making it be about writing is just too personal, man. 🫠 You’re right. It’s time to start living and start getting it all done.
Found this… stayed for it all. Kyle’s part got me. There’s something in this that probably resonates with most people. Thanks for sharing
